Using Google Docs for Collaboration, Phyllis Frick


Google Docs can be used in many creative ways with students, parents, teachers and staff. Google Docs can be shared amongst collaborators to enhance learning, create a positive learning climate, develop differentiated assignments, share lesson plans and ideas with teachers in the same or in different buildings or even in different places throughout the country or throughout the world.

  • To design, implement, share and collaborate proficiently on two Google document projects

Syllabus:

Week 1
  • Overview of Google documents
  • Publishing, sharing and collaborating with Google documents
  • Organizing, saving and finding documents in folders
  • Homework: Choose a project and collaborator(s)

Week 2
  • Design, share and collaborate on Google Doc project #1
  • Homework: Successfully collaborate a minimum of two times on your Google Doc project #1

Week 3
  • Share project #1 with class. Discuss what worked, what didn't work, ways to improve project.
  • Design, share and collaborate on Google Doc project #2
  • Homework: Successfully collaborate a minimum of two times on your Google Doc project #2

Week 4
  • Share project #2 with class. Discuss what worked, what didn't work, ways to improve project.
